It feels pretty damn fabulous winning MVP from Cloud Imperium Games. The recognition was for the work I've done on Alysianah's World of Star Citizen. Primarily, automating the extraction of data from the game's ARK Starmap and transforming it into pages that can be used to scan the lore and perform logistics planning. #feelsgoodman.
This is especially rewarding because it's only a baby step toward my full vision. The bare minimum I wanted to release, since things were taking much longer than I thought they would. Not an uncommon occurrence when you're developing something for the first time. That's a hint for people complaining about Star Citizen delays.
I'm currently out of town due to a death in the family. This brought a much needed smile to my face. I wouldn't have seen it myself for a while yet if not for the Reddit message from Noobifier1337 who first made me aware. That gave me a clue about why my Twitter was blowing up but I hadn't bothered to check it. When I did, I was greeted by a barrage of congratulations. Very happy and proud moment. Not going to lie, it was a lot of work and sometimes stressful, when I couldn't achieve exactly what I had in my head.
Here's the CIG Community Manager announcing it. Here's the episode of Casual Citizen where I explain how to use the site.
Cheers.
