So they want you to restate your constructive feedback about the FOD and Cash Shop again because I suppose, they don’t know how to use the interwebz to find all the feedback already out there. And apparently, searching their forums for the threads that already exist isn’t obvious either. /facepalm These people really are a hoot.
I don’t love Allods’ content any less but I haven’t been playing much since this insanity started. I played closed beta NA and EU. I’ve seen the T1 zone 3 times and T2 once. Unless I’m going to being playing past those zones, there’s not much point in repeating them – again. The problem is that every time I have to walk back to vendor items now it pisses me off. I don’t play MMOs to be annoyed. I play them to forget real life annoyances. *smile*
Sure - chill out, it’s just a game. You’re right about that, it is just a game AND only one of m-a-n-y games on the market. I think they forgot that themselves. *shrug* We’ve certainly seen bigger games fall from grace, a lesson that clearly hasn’t been learned.
I’m sure I’ll play a bit on and off this week and give this game time to get its act together. But last night when it came to Allods versus re-watching Serenity, Mal and crew won out even though I've watched Serenity at least a dozen times - minimum.

For me, the cash shop announcement left me unfazed. I'll admit $20 is a bit steep to pay for 6 more slots but it's not like I was going to buy it at that price anyways. I guess I have something to do now once my fatigue runs out - grind the bag quest. As for perfume costs, worrying about FoD seems a bit premature; I'm not even high enough level to start getting it yet.
My only regret is there wasn't really anything in the cash shop worth spending money on IMO. I really hope they fix that soon.

Serenity is a go to on netflix or hulu

I'm an Amazon Unbox freak and loyal customer. I can purchase movies and watch them from anywhere that I have an Internet connection. I download my favorites so that I can watch them disconnected but everything is online which is awesome when I travel.
I was a fan of netflix but when I got busy with work, writing and gaming, I didn't go through enough movies a month for it to be worth the fee. Serenity forever. I've seen so many BS sequels why on earth don't they do one for Serenity and Riddick already!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I didn't buy into the mass hysteria myself. I was planning on playing Allods until such a time as I felt like the cash shop was intruding on my enjoyment of the game. The announcement of the ludicrous prices didn't really change a thing for me. I can get by without the additional 6 slots in my backpack and, really, it just gives me something to do when my fatigue runs out - go grind the bag quest.
As for the perfume costs, I'm not even high enough yet to suffer from FoD. So far, so good...and this game is definitely one of the good ones.

I've watched both Firefly and Serenity SO many times (too many to actually admit in public!).
I very much agree about the Allods cash shop issue. I've been playing since the announcement, but my experience has been colored by my disappointment over their greed and the choices that they are making.
On a side point, one of the players who insist on speaking only in Russian in zone chat was asked why he just didn't play on the Russian servers, and he replied (in English, for once) that it was because the patch was live on their servers and many of those players have rerolled on EU servers - it broke gameplay enough for them to want to reroll here.

Heh, I had an urge to watch Serenity the other night, got the DVD out and had a great time. So much fun I'm now re-watching the entire Firefly series (great DVD set with the never aired episodes and commentaries!) Ah, good times!
Allods... now removed from my system permanently. Didn't really care for it, but all this cash shop stuff killed any possible interest I had for it. I have started playing RoM again, as diamonds have dropped to reasonable prices on my server and they bit by bit been improving the game.

I think the lack of a Serenity sequel is thanks to Wheddon's "scorched earth" storytelling. Killing off major, beloved characters gives that Lost feeling that all the kids love these days, but it isn't kind to sequels.
Oh, and I've been playing an Empire Paladin. Just when I start getting sick of town, I find a crazy new sewer complex or a weird cracked earth sector. It's still too easy to get lost without a minimap, but so far, it's still fun poking around town.

There's still enough mischief to be had by the remaining crew but I get your point.
Empire side is the best to me. Around level 7 I was OMG when am I leaving this zone. I don't recall a game that keeps you in the same zone so long, especially in the beginning. But you can branch out to mini zones inside the city to mix things ups.
I started doing the Tep quests in that cavern, then bopped over to the trash dump (forgot name) and picked off humanoids that I could in the boiler camp. Depending on your class, once you hit level 9, if you're really tired of the city you can leave for Igsh and choose your battle wisely. I did that on my 3rd character, while waiting for Xaes groups to form.
Plus there are mobs in the different parks for different level ranges. There are way more quests that you need to exist the zone so feel free to skip anything that feels annoying.

I'm still more interested in a Firefly/Serenity MMO than either Star Trek or Star Wars. Not that it will ever happen.

Please don't speak of FF MMO, you'll start me crying. I LOVE that series so much. I had been working on a space opera short story trilogy long before FF. But when someone who I respected and his a published sci-fi author thought the concept of advanced/warp space technology combined with some planets that were still in a pioneer state didn't make sense, I lost enthusiasm for the story. Not that it would have been great or anything, it was early in my writing. Then FF came along and I thought, "Okay - at least I know I'm not crazy." LOL
Harry Potter, Firefly and Amber Chronicles are the 3 IPs I'd most like to see as MMOs.

This is the big problem with free to play games. Any decision that is made will always be looked at in the most cynical eye possible by the gamers. Did the company make this change to fleece them, or is there a real developmental game design reason for it? Players don't mind change (thought they will almost always bitch them) but they want those changes to be grounded in real developmental quandaries.
I look at the restrictions in Allods and turn away. In my mind it's just not worth it when I can play WoW for $15 a month and be just as happy.

@ Winged,
I'm not up in arms about it as a player, since yes, I'll just play for free until it's no longer fun. I'm mostly just shaking my head at how dumb the move it and the repercussions it has... and that it was entirely forseeable and avoidable.

There's really nothing stopping Allods from turning completely around from this fiasco no matter what the doomsayers say. Unlike the subscription model, F2P makes it easier to drop out and in to check on any changes to the game.
Which I'm sure played a not insignificant part on their decision to frontload the cash shop with sparse, expensive items. When adjusting prices in an unknown market, it's always a more popular move to start high and adjust low than the other way around.

Fallen Earth is being well received. If they'd add space ships, space combat and different worlds.... *smile* With STO we know someone can design the mechanics needed to support that type of IP. Several planets, varying storylines, space combat, land combat, building and progressing your own crew. Now let someone take those mechanics and make them less segmented so that the world feels more seamless like EVE Online and slap a space opera or FF setting on the design and quests, and yer all set.
Fallen Earth + STO - minus waiting room instancings + EVE seamless world with conquest and sovereignty mechanics + FireFly-like storyline is Serenity the MMO.

P.S. But we can't even get someone to MMO Harry Potter so there's no hope for FireFly.

lol :) I won't play any Harry Potter ever :) better kill me :)
