Sweet. I checked email today to find a message from Amazon:
Hello from Amazon.com.
We are writing about the order you placed on April 16 2008 19:05 PDT
(Order# -------). The item(s) listed below will actually
ship sooner than we originally expected:
"Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Collector's Edition [DVD-ROM]"
[DVD-ROM]
Estimated arrival date: 09/18/2008
That date jives with what people have been guessing based on the comments made during the explanation from Mythic about the content being cut from the initial release.
I just placed my pre-order for WAR with Amazon too. Looks like anyone who pre-ordered WAR will get into Open Beta and Head Start too, not as long as the Collection Edition people but for a few days. A lot of people over at Warhammer Alliance are upset about this b/c they thought the only way into OP and HS was by buying the CE ... poor Mark Jacobs.

I have a good feeling that the 18th is actually the Head Start date, and the 23rd still the release date.
Either way, I'm hoping/betting we'll be WARing in September.

I thought the same thing, 007 and that is the only reason I bought the CE. I wanted early access to playing the only game on my radar for 2008. Oh well, I dont really care so much but Mythic messaging is getting a bit sloppy.
@JoBildo - I'm trying not to get too excited until it's in my hands and I've patched in. I'm not even deciding on a race or class until then either. I'm a tiny bit disappointed that the first time I was thinking of rolling evil - the starter city and class I had picked out wont even be in release. So now I'll just wait.

The class I understand, but the city part you've got wrong.
Cities aren't starting areas like in most MMOGs. They're essentially massive end-game zones where the pinnacle of RvR and PvE for both sides will ake place. Just to clear that up.
PS - Hudson, myself, Rick, Genda and Heartless_ are forming a guild for all us bloggers and then some. One for each side, so yeah... there's that. :)

@JoBildo - thanks for clearing that up. I did see the post on your blog about good and evil blogger guilds. Once I decide which side I'm going to play, I will definitely be joining one.

That's great! Sign up and start posting on the forum, Saylah. We've got a large crowd already including Cuppycake, Ethic of KTR, Cyndre, Ryan of Nerfbat, Boat of Boathammer, and tons more. Looks like we've created a monster.
