I didn't get to take advantage of the second bonus XP gain this past Sunday. I imploded my UI very late Saturday night and subsequently spent Sunday making it all right again.
Things would have been easier if I'd just reverted to the default UI after removing the offending add-on but no, I wanted something a bit snazzier. I've been spoiled by the endless options for customizing WOW's UI, in addition to the plethora of gaming mods.
After cleaning up the mess, which had left me completely chat-less, I had to manually piece together the one I liked. For some reason even using the preferred screen resolution, it exploded the game windows and it's visual elements all over the place. I painstakingly pieced things together, making some minor adjustments to suit my preferences, until 4+ hours later, I was set to rock and roll. By the time I was done, I was too tired and agitated to level so I just logged off for the day.
On the good side of things, StarGrace invited me to her ultra casual guild which was a nice surprise. People come and go - mostly their alts here except for Star, and the atmosphere is laid back and unassuming. We converse for a bit when guildies first log on. We extend "Grats" we they gain skill or adventurer levels. They offer assistance and answer nooblet questions. Overtime everyone fades quietly into the background, silently engrossed in their own little world of character progression. Guild chat goes silent until the next guildie logs on.
This works for me. I can talk when and if I want to, and no one thinks it odd if I don't. It's like when you read a good book curled up next to your partner, who's doing something completely different. You don't have to talk, yet it's comforting to know that if you want to talk someone is just an earshot away.
Always glad to have you around, and if you should happen to want the company of other folks, or another home a bit more chatty, of course, you are more then welcome ;) TK is my home for a lot of reasons, and I love everyone who is there, but by no means does that mean you have to stay if you don't enjoy it! I must say, I'm glad you do though ;) For now at least, hehe. Another two new members today, since people have been off playing RoK the guild's slightly sparse since their alts are what typically frequent.
