No, I haven't completely abandoned this blog. I've just been busy with work, travel and the house. And since I'm not burning to play any game in particular at the moment, I haven't been playing anything at all. However, that's about to change soon.
In trying to find more balance in my life, I still want time to play games. I'm looking forward to Warhammer even though it's still several months away. I'm a little less excited about Pirates of the Burning Sea now that I realize my desire to play a new game, isn't pressing enough that I want to level in a game that I don't feel I want to play long term, hence my early exit from LOTRO.
For the same reason, I probably won't bother with Spellborn either unless I hear some really wonderful things. I'm still considering Rome because I liked the ability to have cohorts aka minions in GuildWars and this is something that will be present in Rome. I'm probably going to take a pass on Conan unless I get more excited about it for some reason.
So why are so many of the games I previously wanted to play hitting the skids now? I'm feeling a little gun-shy from having been an early purchaser of recent games only to leave them languishing on my shelf. I'm bored WOW but not bored enough to level something just for the sake of doing it. I'm starting to feel like Gary and Ryan from MOG - I'm just not overly impressed by the new crop of MMOs coming out, so until I am, I'll just find something else to do with my time.
