When I hit level 58 I went to Silithus to finish the grind to 60. It’s not half bad. There are an abundance of slay and fetch quests. Nothing exciting, but at least the landmass is small so traveling to and fro isn’t too bad. My rest bonus helped me fly through level 58. A run through Undead Strat pushed me ¼ into 59 and a few quests in Silithus brought me to where I am now, which is ¾ to level 60.
Like STV and Gadget, Silithus can be annoying on a PVP server. There are a couple of guilds that take delight in mauling lower level players on their way to do AQ. There’s a particularly annoying rogue named Geck who likes to kill you slowly with his stun-locking ass and then camp you until you log. If I were more inspired, I’d get on my Warlock and kick his ass like I used to do when someone camped one of my alts. But I just don’t have that much motivation in the game at present. It’s just as easy to log and find something more interesting to do.
Frankly, a Disc/Holy priest shouldn’t be out alone in the world trying to grind. It’s an invitation for pain. I like healing in AV- I really do! And I like being the primary healer in our guild instance runs. Unfortunately, in a guild of 15 people not all of whom are even in the 50s, group runs are rare. I could easily PUG as a priest. Groups are always spamming. But the runs start too late for me. I don’t understand how people can start these runs that take 2-3 hours at 10 o’clock at night? Hell, I’m ready for bed at that hour. So besides soloing being a preference a lot of the time, it’s out of necessity a good bit of the time. If some trumped out 60 wants to get off a mount and kill me so be it. If that’s what it take for them to get their rocks off, fine. It’s the camping that gets annoying and shows a level of immaturity I’ve only found in this game.
Hey, I like the new dark site. Is the color scheme signifying the long slow fade to a frigid winter?

Why, yes it is. That and my gaming mood. :-)

My Hunter on Stonemaul (PvP) is still in his late 20s but I've been doing all of the Darnassus Rep quests because I'd like to get him a Tiger. He's a Dwarf Hunter, by the way ;) This means mid teens and up, he's been in Ashenvale and Stonetalon, both contested zones, so he's been flagged the whole time. I've been ganked once or twice, once while I was standing outside the Astranaar Inn looking at my map. I returned to the game to find that I'm being attacked, no, I was being attacked, now I'm dead :P
In Stonetalon I came across a few lower level Horde, as in lower level than me, as in low enough that I could have killed them without raising my heartbeat (world PvP always gets my heart pumping). My Bear attacked the Tauren Warrior as we ran passed because he chose that moment to unleash a Demoralizing Shout which hit my Bear. He got in a whack or two (my Bear on him) before I called him off. Probably freaked out the Tauren a bit and brought him close to getting killed by the Stag he was fighting.
In Windshear Crag I came across another lowbie as I was returning to the Goblin to hand in a quest. I practically ran right over top of her on my way into the Goblin's tent and she'd seen me coming at her the whole time. I'm sure she was freaking out thinking she was about to get killed, too.
Around Iris Lake I encountered a Rogue several levels below me. I needed the venom sacks from the Manticores there so I was killing them but using Track Humanoids, and every now and then this Rogue would pop up on the Radar. At one time I strolled over towards his location and just stood there, watching him for a bit before I resumed killing the Manticores. I was content to let the Rogue do his thing, but if that included trying to attack me I was more than ready for him.
I realize that's not quite the ganking attitude one is apparently required to have on a PvP server. I figure live & let live, cause trouble & reap the consequences.

I try to do the same, Capn. I'm not always in the mood for a battle which may escalate to calling in friends or guildmates. When that happens not only is someone going to die, they are going to get camped. People don't ride out to assist you, kill the lil bugger once then go on their way. They make you suffer for having had them called out there in the first place.
If I see someone near where I need to be, I'll try to give them a wide bearth and see what happens. Are they watching me? Are the inching closer? Or standing there for a while doing nothing which could mean they are calling for the death squad. If they just go about their business, then I will too, with one eye on them and the other on the mobs. If another member of their faction shows up, then I just mount and ride in the opposite direction. People who are hesitent about starting a fight one-on-one, somehow grow balls when the numbers are in their favor. I have to be careful on my priest. She ain't Shadow anymore and melting facing isn't part of her vocabulary. On my Warlock, I'd dare them to attack me. Hence my contention that Locks are over-powered. They damn well know it. And need to stop fronting. :-)
More than half of the time though, if I let someone slide, it comes back to bite me later. I'll go about my business and then look over my shoulder to find them and their friends eyeing me like ripe summer fruit, which means on my priest, boom I dead. Still, I try to be cautious cuz this toon doesn't really carry a big stick. If they start something I'll fight it out but I'd just as soon not bother.
